Julio Garcia, RN, Director of Springhill Medical Center’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Program, was recently selected by his peers in the hyperbaric medical field to sit on the Associate Council for the Undersea Hyperbaric Medical Society.
He is the current Nurse Elect Representative for the Associate Council of the UHMS. This is the premier organization in the hyperbaric medical field.
It is my honor to serve in this capacity. I will do my utmost the represent our hospital and our field to the best of my ability.

2014 -- Special Services Award: For contributions to the Gulf Coast Chapter
2015 -- The Paul C. Baker Award for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Safety Excellence
2019 -- Excellence in Critical Care Hyperbaric Medicine Award
Julio R. Garcia, CHT, RN, BSN, ACHRN, AAPWCA, is the Director for the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at the Springhill Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. He was trained in Hyperbaric Medicine and Medical Technology at Virginia Mason MC in Seattle, Washington. Garcia served in the US Army as a Combat Medical Specialist and conducted Air Medivac Operations SWA in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He is co-author of Hyperbaric Nursing and Wound Care and has been faculty with Wound Care Education Partners since our beginning.
