SMC's Inpatient Rehab Unit added 7 beds and additional space for physical therapy activities.

SMC expanded the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit from 11 to 18 all private rooms, which now makes the hospital a 270-bed facility.

The Inpatient Rehab Unit opened in November 2015. In a short time, it was evident that more beds were needed to serve our community. The Springhill Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit offers exceptional rehabilitation and medical care to patients recovering from serious illness or injury, including stroke, brain injury, lower extremity amputations, hip fractures, etc.

“We are committed to investing in programs and services that enhance the quality of patient care and increase our community’s access to essential services to improve patients’ functional abilities and independence,” said Mr. Jeff St. Clair, President/CEO of Springhill Medical Center.

SMC’s Inpatient Rehab Unit’s commitment to excellence is noted by its Medical Rehab and Stroke Accreditations by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehab Facilities (CARF). The program’s quality is in the Top 5% of the more than 860 programs that participate in the UDS Program Evaluation Model.  SMC’s Inpatient Rehab Unit is the only one in the area to offer The REAL System Virtual Reality Therapy.

Springhill Medical Center has a longstanding reputation for clinical excellence, innovation in patient care, and outstanding quality outcomes. With the rehab unit expansion, the hospital is going from 263 licensed beds to 270.
