Staying connected with supportive family and friends is an important part of the recovery process. There are many alternative ways to interact with patients when you can't be with them.
Here are a few ideas:
- A phone call can make all the difference. Just hearing a loved one’s voice can significantly reduce a patient’s anxiety and stress.
- All of the social media platforms today have chat apps to share memes and the latest news about one's returning health.
- Google Hangouts, Zoom and many other conferencing apps are available for the whole family to connect.
- Your Springhill Medical Center Care Team can help with tablets, live streaming and emailing photographs.
We encourage you to use FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, and phone calls to virtually visit with loved ones while they are in the hospital. If you need help with this, please let a staff member know. The care team will provide family members regular updates about their loved one's care.
