Thor, Tomi, and Skytron – Cleaning Technology, Of Course!
When it comes to keeping the hospital safe for patients, employees, and visitors, SMC spared no expense on our cleaning tools. Through our partnership with Felder Services, the hospital now has the Thor UVC disinfection system, as well as the Skytron disinfection technology that the hospital purchased this year.
You may notice the unique looking devices loaded with elongated tubular light bulbs s you make your way through the hospital, ER, OR, ICU, or other areas. Both cleaning “robots” utilize Ultraviolet-C light to kill 99.999% of healthcare-associated infection (HAI) germs such as coronavirus, C. diff, MRSA, VRE, Ebola, and other pathogens, viruses, bacteria, and fungi that could compromise a patient’s outcome.
Hundreds of millions of patients are affected by HAIs worldwide each year. SMC stepped up in a big way by adding these cleaning tools to its arsenal of germ-fighting technology.
In addition, the Tomi SteraMist system has been used at SMC for years and continues to be an important solution to fight resistant infectious pathogens, especially on hard-to-clean, contaminated equipment.
This COVID-19 pandemic has created many, many challenges for hospitals, but finding the best tools to limit the spread of infection stays at the forefront. This UVC technology is a game changer to minimize downtime and speed the cleaning process, as well as keep everyone at Springhill safe!
