Mobile County students were able to creatively express themselves as the Color By Kids Art Competition made its return this year.

This year’s 38th Annual Color By Kids Art Competition explored art submissions from grades K-12 in the local area. Springhill Medical Center and the SMH Auxiliary honor winners from Mobile County public and private schools. The annual contest was paused last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this year’s competition resumed without the annual reception.

The organization worked with two accomplished local artists who judged the 150+ art entries in the four grade categories. All winners received certificates, gift cards for art supplies, and checks for their individual schools to support their art programs. The first-place winners in each category also received plaques for their schools to display in trophy cases.

The Color By Kids Art Competition serves dual purposes. It promotes children’s art in Mobile County and supports the hospital’s mission to be the best community-centered health care provider in the area.

Winning artwork has been professionally framed and is on exhibit this summer at various locations. Springhill will prominently display the work in the main lobby for a year to be enjoyed every day by patients, visitors, and staff members until next year’s Competition. Winning artwork from prior years remains on display as part of the permanent collection at Springhill.

Springhill Medical Center congratulates the winners of the 2021 Color By Kids Art Competition.
